operations mission

At its heart, the National Center for Virtual Search is a service hub, designed to provide support for agencies responsible for finding and bringing back lost or missing individuals. These agencies have a dedicated partner and one-stop resource for help in assessing and resolving their search incidents. The National Center for Virtual Search offers knowledgeable, skillful, and effective search analyses. Using a diverse range of tools and the vast expertise of our staff, we are able to identify the most probable locations to expedite search operations. Think of us as a central point of collaboration, or a "Fusion Center," for solving any search issue.

In every request for our services, we employ a systematic method, considering over 17 unique factors specific to each mission. From these, we generate actionable strategies, tactical plans, and mapping products to guide field resources towards the area with the highest likelihood of locating the person in question.

Over thirteen years and nearly one thousand individual cases, our analysts have demonstrated a remarkable success rate. We have been able to predict the locations of missing children, vulnerable adults, and others with an accuracy rate of over eighty-five percent when our solutions are applied with skilled Search and Rescue resources.

Please note that the National Center for Virtual Search provides these services at no cost. We operate thanks to tax-free contributions from generous benefactors who endorse our vision and mission. Additionally, we explore grant funding opportunities that align with our objective of finding lost individuals.

We have also conducted cold-case analyses in the past, an initiative supported by our research division. Our purpose, above all, is to provide a ray of hope for those in distress, helping bring the lost back home.
